PRINCIPAL DIANE MURG

  • Recent News Diane Murg’s career in education and working with young people spans over twenty three years. While teaching Language Arts and supervising an after school recreation program in Roseville, she continued her education completing a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education at Wayne State University. She began teaching in the city of Detroit in 1995, at a small Catholic school where she taught Language Arts in the middle school. She soon realized that teaching in the city was both challenging and very rewarding.

Mrs. Murg is in her eighth year in the Plymouth Educational Center District. After a year and a half in the classroom, she was appointed coordinator of the school reform program, ATLAS, where she worked with teachers in the development of classroom strategies, authentic student assessment, parental involvement and facilitating a learning pathway, grades K-8. In 2006, Mrs. Murg became Curriculum and Testing Coordinator for the K-8 building.

As a member of the original high school focus group, Mrs. Murg helped design the basic foundation premises for the new Plymouth Educational Preparatory High School. She now serves as the principal of PEC PREP, dedicated to providing PREP students with academic rigor, high expectations and the necessary support needed to assure success for all students.
